Metadata for reproducibility

Reproducible research means making available experimental design and statistics, resources, and data and materials alongside data analyses, so that others may verify the findings and build upon them. The following metadata elements are particularly important for reproducibility:

  • Updates (such as corrections, retractions, updates, expressions of concern)
  • Funding data (conflict of interest), ORCID iDs (for people, such as authors, reviewers, editors)
  • License URLs
  • Full-text URLs
  • Links to peer review
  • Links to versions
  • Links to clinical trial registry, trial number, and dataset(s)
